CBSE Class 12 exams 2015: More than 600 centres allotted

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to conduct the Board exams for Class 12 candidates from March 2. According to CBSE 10,40,368 candidates have registered for the exams, with the allotment of centres for the students coming to 678 this year . Of the centres, 606 are allotted for local students in Delhi, where 605 centres were given to them the previous year. The students satisfying the foreign reservation criteria have been allotted a total of 64 centres, compared to 58 centres in 2014, the number of centres for the visually impaired has remained the same at 8 centres in the state for 2014-15. This year, students have also been enabled to reach out to the CBSE for help and queries. CBSE Class 10 Board Exams 2015 : Over 680 centres allotted

Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) is all set to carry out their Class 10  board exams starting from March 2 to March 10. According to CBSE, a total of 13,73,853 candidates have registered for the exams out of which 5,55,912 are female candidates and 8,17,941 are male candidates. The exam will be conducted in 3,537 centres wherein students from 14,047 schools will participate, with the allotment of centres for the students in the state summing up to an aggregate of 684. Out of the total centres, 606 are allotted for local students, where 605 centres were given to them the previous year. The students satisfying the foreign reservation criteria have been allotted a total of 70 centres, increasing this year from 61 centres in 2014, where the number of centres for the visually impaired candidates stays the same at 8 centres for 2014-15. IIT GATE result to be declared on March 12

Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) exam result will be announced on the online application website on March 12, 2015. The GATE exam was held during forenoon and afternoon sessions on alternate weekends (Saturday and Sunday). For every wrong answer: 1/3 mark will be deducted from multiple choice questions carrying one mark; 2/3 mark will be deducted from multiple choice questions carrying two marks For numerical answer type questions, no marks will be deducted. UPSC Interview Schedule for recruitment at 44 posts released

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the interview schedule for recruitment at the post of Assistant Director of Operations, Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Civil Aviation. Cheaper education loans for higher education aspirants

The government is eyeing a proposal to make education loans cheaper through an interest funding scheme - a subsidy system through which the government pays to the banks straight away, making them to charge lower rates from student loan borrowers, especially from a particular income group. Besides, students belonging from low income families will be given preference for availing such loans. Finance minister Arun Jaitley made an announcement about the scheme in the forthcoming budget. In the present scenario, banks, on an average, charge 12.88% for education loans, in comparison to 12.17% on car loans. As on March 31, 2014, education loans given out by Indian banks stood were of 60,071 crore. Over the last few years, banks have become aware of giving out education loans beyond a certain limit citing high risk of default. The Indian Banks Association (IBA), an industry body of banks, recommended the setting up of a guarantee fund. "Education loan is critical and students must b
