Delhi University is expected to introduce new system this year

Delhi University has to act swiftly to introduce the choice based credit system (CBCS) from the coming session. The university has been advised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

The university grants commission (UGC) and the varsity had written communication on the issue and the former asked to take prompt actions for the implementation of CBCS and credit framework for skill development (CFSD) from the coming academic session. The ministry even demanded the overall report of the preparation going on for the execution of the idea and to quicken the speed so that the new session starts with new system.

In December, 2014 the varsity set up a committee comprising seven member that would look into the process of implementation.
Post the approval of the proposal by the Academic Council of Delhi University, the MRHD asked for the details of its preparation to implement the order. It is also been advised by the ministry that the implementation should be swift rather being done in rash manner.

CBCS is expected to bring knowledge with expertise in the Indian education system. So, the ministry does not want to delay the system as it would be beneficial for the students if it starts from this very year. It will assist students in taking up subjects of their choice and migrate to other countries with ease through the grading system. With this they can take up additional courses to upgrade their grades.

As it will make it easy for the students to take up diverse courses it will boost up their creative skills and overall growth which will further enhance the ratio of skilled workforce in various specialized fields.
The system is said to transform the education system which will help students to attain aspiration and employment requirements together.
