Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) is all set to carry out their Class 10 board exams starting from March 2 to March 10. According to CBSE, a total of 13,73,853 candidates have registered for the exams out of which 5,55,912 are female candidates and 8,17,941 are male candidates. The exam will be conducted in 3,537 centres wherein students from 14,047 schools will participate, with the allotment of centres for the students in the state summing up to an aggregate of 684.
Out of the total centres, 606 are allotted for local students, where 605 centres were given to them the previous year. The students satisfying the foreign reservation criteria have been allotted a total of 70 centres, increasing this year from 61 centres in 2014, where the number of centres for the visually impaired candidates stays the same at 8 centres for 2014-15.
Students have also been enabled to reach out to the CBSE for help and queries this year. Some of the services offered are:-
1. A centralized toll free access in India
Students can dial a toll free number 1800 11 8004 from any part of the country which will give centralized access to CBSE helpline. While the general queries will be answered by the operators, students will be connected to the principals or counselors in case of exam related anxiety or stress.
Counselling for Specially Able Children
For the sixth year CBSE has arranged to provide counselling to specially able children to take care of the needs and anxiety of special children.
2. Question-answer columns
CBSE experts answered queries of students through weekly question answer columns published in national newspapers like The Hindustan Times (HT Horizon-Education), The Hindu, Malyalam Manorama and Amar Ujala during the month of February.
3. On-line counselling

4. CBSE website
Information related to examinations and techniques to cope with exam related anxiety is also provided at the CBSE website www.cbse.nic.in through the micro link-helpline.
