The score card for Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) exam is expected to be published on the official website on March 27. The exam was held during forenoon and afternoon sessions on alternate weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
For every wrong answer:
1/3 mark will be deducted from multiple choice questions carrying one mark;
2/3 mark will be deducted from multiple choice questions carrying two marks
For numerical answer type questions, no marks will be deducted.

Conducted by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board - GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India, GATE tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science.
"A good GATE rank assures a good job," Slariya, author of the popular book 'Mechanical Engineering for GATE', told India Today Education in an interview.
"There are nearly 217 Public Sector Undertakings in India and most of them select candidates through the GATE scores. Students who qualify in GATE are entitled to a stipend of Rs 8,000 per month during their M. Tech course," he added.
