Human Resource Development Ministry to induct Naukri.com founder in Central Advisory Board of Education

The Human Resource Development Ministry will introduce Sanjeev Bikhchandani, founder of job portal Naukri.com in the reconstituted Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE). The move has been indicated in a bid to combine employment and education for including it in larger policy formulation.
As per information from sources in the ministry, Bhikchandani, founder and executive vice-chairman of Info Edge (India) which owns Naukri.com, is set to be in the newly-reconstituted body of CABE. It is also the highest advisory body on education in the country. The term of the members of CABE body, which is three years, is due to expire in May 2015.
As reported earlier, other members to be included in CABE are Rohan Narayan Murty, the man who led the Murty Classics of India, Vijay Bhatkar, chairman of IIT-Delhi, SA Bari and former chairman of Editors' Guild of India D N Bezboruah among others.
The attempt to include Bhikchandani is to lay emphasis on combining employability with education rather than focusing merely on academics. Besides this, the ministry has also decided to focus on skill development in education by including experts in the area as CABE members.
The CABE comprised by the UPA government in 2012 constituted four people from the industry "representing interest in education", six academicians/scientists, seven people with "special interests" including activist Teesta Setalvadand others.
